On October 30, 1735, John Adams was born in Braintree, Massachusetts. He served as the second president of the United States, and served in office from 1797 to 1801. His son served as the sixth president. He loved books, and his favorite subjects in school were math and spelling. Adams died on the same day as Thomas Jefferson, July 4, 1826. They were the last two surviving signers of the Declaration of Independence.
