On February 22, 1732 George Washington was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He commanded the Continental Army in the American Revolution, and was later made a delegate to the Constitutional Convention. He was then selected to serve as the first president of the United States. George Washington is regarded as a "founding father" of the United States. He died in Mount Vernon, Virginia on December 14, 1799.
