On August 20, 1833, Benjamin Harrison, the 23rd president of the United States, was born in North Bend, Ohio. His great-grandfather had signed the Declaration of Independence, and his grandfather had been president. Benjamin Harrison served as president from 1889 to 1893. There were only 44 states at the time. During his presidency, the first game of basketball was played. He died on March 13, 1901, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
