On September 15, 1857, William Taft was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the 27th president of the United States, and he served from 1909 to 1913. He then became Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court in 1921. He was the first president to drive around Washington in an electric car. He also added the Oval Office to the White House. He died on March 8, 1930 in Washington, D.C.
