On July 11, 1767, John Quincy Adams was born in Braintree, Massachusetts. He was the sixth president of the United States, and served in office from 1825 to 1829. He wrote poetry, and was the first president to publish his own book of poetry. Adams was also the first president to be a son of a former president. He died on February 23, 1848, in the House of Representatives.
