Andrew Jackson was born on March 15, 1767, in a log cabin in Waxhaw, South Carolina. He served as the seventh president of the United States from 1829 to 1837, and he was the first president since George Washington who had not attended college. Jackson was a military hero in the War of 1812. He died in Nashville, Tennessee on June 8, 1845.
