Wash with water. On unfinished marble, pastels will leave a residual stain.
Dampen a sponge with water and wipe stains from the outside to the center of the stain. If the stain remains, dampen a sponge with alcohol and use a blotting motion to absorb the stain, changing the sponge as often as needed. Apply upholstery/rug shampoo according to the directions on the container.
Wash with dish soap.
All colors can be removed with water except blue, brick red and red, which can be removed using liquid dish soap.
Wash with water.
Wipe all stains with a damp sponge. If stain persists saturate a cotton ball with alcohol and blot the stain and rinse.
Spray the surface to be cleaned with WD-40 and wipe clean with a soft cloth. If any stain remains, saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, blot the stain and rinse. Wipe any remaining residue with a damp sponge or cloth moistened with liquid dish soap.
Scrape excess clay with a dull knife or metal spoon. Spray with WD-40 and let stand a few minutes. Again, scrape excess clay with dull knife or metal spoon. Respray with WD-40 and wipe stain with cotton balls. If any stain remains, saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, blot the stain and rinse. Wipe any remaining residue or remaining stain with a damp sponge or cloth moistened with liquid dish soap.
Brush and rinse as much of the chalk stain from the surface as possible. Rinse with water.

Place stained area on paper towels and blot with alcohol. Wash in hot water with laundry detergent and stain remover and rinse in warm water. Repeat as necessary until all the stain is removed.
