See-Through Cellophane

See-Through Cellophane lesson plan

  • 1.

Explore color mixing without paints and with pictures the children choose.

  • 2.

Keep an assortment of boxes on hand for art and science projects.

  • 4.

Choose a small box. With Crayola® Scissors, cut out a square from one side. Ask an adult if you need help.

  • 5.

Cut a piece of colored cellophane a little larger than the square hole. Attach the cellophane to the inside of the box with clear adhesive tape. Decorate your viewer with Crayola® Glitter Glue. Dry overnight.

  • 6.

Draw small pictures on white paper with a black Crayola® Washable Marker. What colors will you see if you hold the drawings inside the box?

  • 7.

Draw pictures with different colors. What colors will you see when you look through the cellophane?
