Clothing in Color

Clothing in Color lesson plan

  • 1.

Challenge children's fine-motor skills and imaginations with this activity.

  • 2.

As children work, invite them to describe art elements (line, shape, form, color, texture) they are using to design clothing.

  • 3.

Note children's skills and interests in clothing, cultures, design, and/or weather. Build on these in future planning.

  • 4.

Find a large picture of a child in a magazine. Cut it out with Crayola® Scissors.

  • 5.

Create a colorful, varied wardrobe for your child. On white paper, use Crayola® Crayons to draw and color new clothes and accessories. Lay the paper on top of picture to help decide the size and shape of each item.

  • 6.

Cut out the new clothes. With Crayola® Glue Sticks, dress each child.
